I met with a delegation of stakeholders from the legal and medical profession today led by a senior lawyer, Mr. K. Sila Dass. Others in attendance were Prof Nathan Vytialingam, Datin Ranuga Devy, Prof. Dr. Vickneswaran Mathaneswaran and Ms Asha Krishnamoorthy. 

We discussed a variety of pertinent issues related to the practice of personal injury litigation in Malaysia. 

This included a register of medical experts for personal injury litigation, the need and usefulness of interim payments to victims suffering personal injuries in particular how it aids their rehabilitation, and increasing the use of mediation in personal injury claims. 

All issues raised today will be explored and discussed in detail with other relevant stakeholders to hear their views on the matter, including the Office of the Chief Registrar of the Federal Court, the Malaysian Bar Council and the Malaysian Medical Council, to name a few.
