I held a follow-up meeting today with the Deputy Director-General of the National Heritage Department, YBrs. Tuan Mohamad Muda Bahadin to discuss the heritage classification of the Vivekananda Ashram in Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur. Joining us were Ms. Deva Kunjari Sambanthan and Mr. Tamil Wanan — two individuals who hold the cause of preserving the Vivekananda Ashram close to their hearts. 

We discussed ensuring the continued preservation of the Vivekananda Ashram as a shared treasure of our rich national heritage. I have instructed my Office to take several immediate steps towards this end.
