Online skilling platforms, also
known as MOOCs are websites that are dedicated to learning new skills in a wide
variety of range. There are several online skilling platforms such as Udemy,
Upword, and Skillshare. MOOCs are massive open learning courses that available to anyone with a computer and Internet connection.
These platforms contain hundreds of
courses from a wide array of disciplines. However, they are known more for
their skills in tech, most notably, machine learning, web development, and
application programming.
People, who want to enter the tech
industry with some kind of certification, do their courses from these
platforms. You can choose to either do a full-fledged certification paid course
or a course that is free but doesn't provide any certification.
So let’s understand why you need
these platforms.
As we have established that the
employment industry is changing rapidly, you are going to need new skills to
stay relevant. If you choose to learn new skills offline in brick and mortar
colleges and institutions, good luck with it!
On the other hand, using an online
platform for learning new skills is much convenient since you don’t need to pay
a lot for the certification. Or you can learn a new skill without a certificate
and make some projects to show and get hired in your new industry.
