"An entrepreneurial woman creates wealth both in her family, nationally and indirectly at the global level".

Women, entrepreneurial practices cover very different realities. Beyond the variety of status, size, and scope of the ventures created, there is a significant difference between male and female entrepreneurship.

Apparent differences in achievement are also identifiable by gender: women have smaller businesses that generate lower turnover and slower growth than their male counterparts.

Battling demands and challenges, an idea paves the way for independence, as a woman undertakes the daring, arduous and adventurous journey to the world of entrepreneurism. Her quest, unlike her male counterparts, throw up tests unique to her gender. She works inside the deterrents and constraints of family and society. Yet, from those shackles are born innovative and ingenious concepts that only a woman can bring forth. The essence of which brings prosperity, not just for herself, but for her family, society and country too.

Her motivation to start a business are varied. For some, it is a necessity and for others an opportunity. While unemployment and education are the compelling circumstances for many women, financial independence and flexibility of being one's own boss can be driving factors for others.

The idea of successful entrepreneurship too varies from person to person. A global operation with hundreds of employees and millions in revenues or a mom & pop shop that helps bring out her talents, both are worthy achievements . Therein lies the first step she has to take. To consider and decide the ideal vision for her business and her personal life.

As her ideas take wings, the challenges in front of her increases. The tentacles of social and cultural barriers try to strangle her vision. A patriarchal mindset, role conflicts, gender bias, start rearing its ugly head. Personal deficiencies like lack of education or experience, work-home conflict, family conflicts, affect her adversely.

Compared to male business owners, women in business lack access to various information, including finance and technology. They also do not have opportunities to connect with other women entrepreneurs and experts in the field. She has to work hard to defy these challenges. She has to be given essential mentorship and support of family and friends by which her quest can be taken forward.
