Entrepreneurship has no age limit

skills for business

Our youth or any age has tremendous opportunities for being an entrepreneur. Age is not a challenge for an entrepreneur. Think about Mc Donald's owner, who started his business at 52. We should think about how Ray Kroc has created a restaurant empire that was started at the age of 52?

However, they often ask what can be studied to be an entrepreneur? How to be an entrepreneur? What should you learn to become an entrepreneur? To answer these questions, we must address the issue from a broad perspective. Deciding to become an entrepreneur is the one that influences different dimensions of a person's life, not just the professional aspect, as some think.

What should I study to become an entrepreneur?

It is a fact that there are careers and courses closely related to the business and entrepreneur; the truth is that you will never learn how to be an entrepreneur. That is, they can teach you how to create a company and how to manage it, but being an entrepreneur implies the development of skills and attitudes that can only be acquired through experience.

There are many courses one can take about entrepreneurship. There are many books available online that can be read.

Eventually, you can acquire knowledge, skills and competencies that you need to succeed in business. However, entrepreneurship requires a complete extra effort on attitude, behaviour and decision making perspective. If all the courses are encouraged or practised to put your own ideas into practice and Projects, that is the best entrepreneurship course you can take.

What are the knowledge and skills that every entrepreneur needs?

These may vary depending on the stage of your business project. It also depends on the type of company you are creating and the industry in which you are undertaking. However, we can categorise such knowledge and skills into 3 points:

Technical Skills: These are the knowledge and skills to perform activities that include methods, processes and procedures. Therefore, they represent working with specific tools, models and techniques, eventually building trick of the trade for your business.

Human Skills: Those are the skills that refer to the ability to interact effectively with collaborators, customers and suppliers, among others. That is, connect with human quality and social values. Be empathetic, motivating, guides and coach of people and work teams to develop their talent, skills, abilities, knowledge fully and thus achieve the established goals: leadership, emotional intelligence, stress management, conflict management and effective communication.

Conceptual Skills: Those related to the generation of ideas, understand abstract relationships, out of box thinking, develop new concepts, solve problems creatively, process analysis, innovation, design thinking and creativity and planning

Within these three categories are framed all those skills and knowledge that we usually associate with business success: such as leadership, knowing how to sell, efficiently managing financial resources, teamwork, decision making, resilience, emotional intelligence, knowing how to identify business opportunities and innovating new products and services.
