How to save job loss due to automation?

Whether Manufacturing or Banks, automation is a necessity. The fact is companies who did do innovative ways in automation has emerged, and long stood, and those turned away, could not survive during the last recession.  So organisations are going ahead with automation such as Robotic Process Automation ( RPA)  and AI. The inclusion of AI in many businesses will bring in job loss. Whether we accept it or not, this technological transformation will happen, and it’s mostly related to how fast and reliable AI can be. Unlike people, AI doesn’t have to rest, nor will it make mistakes. That fundamental process makes it a much better option than people in general. But how can you save your job from automation?

Design the best product

The good idea is to focus on designing the product a stage which is above manufacturing. You want to make sure that the design still allows a true focus on human input. RPA and

AI is being used to automate tasks, but the design needs to be implemented by humans. Otherwise, it just won’t work the way you want. That is why we should push the boundaries and find a way to implement and use this in a professional manner. Social innovations and their designs that help society and touch our lives will have a high impact.

Can we do something?

Yes, we can focus on those jobs that need creativity and which are always going to be very important in our society. AI will and should be used only for menial tasks. Repetitive tasks that require a lot of attention that will be automated with the AI. However, there are tons of creative jobs that need to be worked on adequately, and the payoff alone can be amazing.

We have to understand that job loss can be challenging, and we need to push the boundaries and actively find a way to make these things work. Adaptability is key, so we should try to use that to our advantage. These fears are very tricky and demanding, but you will see that fearing stuff like this will only make things worse. What you want to do is to find a way to enhance your career — upgrade skills for the future.

What jobs are safe?

Jobs such as human resources managers, scientists, sales and marketing managers, PR, chief executives, event planners, software development, writers, editors and graphic designers cannot be replaced. Some repetitive task process can be automated, but who defines the process? All the process is designed by we the people only. What you have to think is that even if some of these jobs might seem to be easy to replace, they are not. They are crucial for society and we need to find a way to adapt them to our requirements. That will not assure that things will always be easy. They will be incredibly challenging, and the only thing that you can do is to make everything work.

Will there be challenges in the long run? Yes, because the AI evolution is evolving and very hard to pinpoint or plan anything. There will be impending problems as we try to adapt to the new age. But the fact is that as long as you are the best at what you do, not a lot will change. What you need is to focus on having patience and finding ways to make things better. If you do that adequately, the payoff will be amazing, and you will not have to worry about automation related job losses!
