This afternoon was the opening of " 75 Years of Bruce Lee Exhibition and Arts Charity" held in Ipoh. I was invited to make a short speech .
Bruce Lee died at age 32 in 1973. But today he is still famous . That shows how big a legend he is .
Bruce Lee was so famous that not only Chinese movie goers then loved to watch his films; even other races were interested in watching his films.
Although most people will remember and still love him for being a kung fu expert, Bruce Lee was in fact a philosopher.
Today, one can google and read many of his great and powerful quotes.
Personally, I think one of the most powerful quotes
is this: Knowing is
not enough; We must apply. Willing is not enough; We must do.
Basically this means ACTIONS. Nothing can be achieved if there is absence of action. This quote can serve as a good guide for our daily lives.
It should also serve as
a good reminder to the political parties which practice the slogan of NATO (No
action talk only) when it comes to championing the people’s interest.
Last year’s big flood in
Kelanatan brought much hardship and sufferings to the people. Yet it is shocking and sad that till today , there are
many who are still homeless.
We can and should do out
bit to help these people .
As such, I want to
commend Sdr Dr Hew Kuan Yau for organisng this “75 Years of Bruce Lee Exhibition
and Arts Charity” to celebrate Bruce Lee’s legacy as well as to raise funds to
help the many Kelantan flood victims.
I
call on Perak folks to help make this event a great success.
