PR will not bankrupt the nation.

Speech by M Kula Segaran, DAP National Vice Chairman and MP for Ipoh Barat at PR Forum in Ampang on Friday , March 15, 2013

PR will not bankrupt the nation.

In his efforts to win voter support, the Prime Minister has resorted to many tactics, including dishing out cash incentives and handouts.

He has also used the politics of fear by warning the people that if Pakatan Rakyat comes to power, the nation will be bankrupted.

This is but just one of BN’s desperate tactics.

Look at what Umno veteran and former Deputy Prime Minister Tun Musa Hitam has recently about on this BN’s allegation.

He said that Malaysia will not become bankrupt if PR trumps the BN  to take Putrajaya,.

He said PR will not bankrupt the nation and that he has openly commented on the matter, including to bankers and outsiders.

Who will want to take power only to bankrupt and destroy the nation? BN’s allegation is certainly a big one but it is a big lie.

Another card which the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib has used is the gratitude card.
Last month, he said that the Chinese are successful because BN has ensured harmony and implemented good policies since independence.

“If not for the success of BN leaders in maintaining harmony and implementing good policies, even if we were hardworking and had good business skills, we would never have been successful,” he said so when delivering his speech at a I Malaysia open house in Puchong.

But the Chinese owe BN nothing and certainly do not have to show gratitude and vote BN in the next general election.

Despite having been in power for more than 5 decades, BN government continues to implement discriminatory policies.

Chinese have been able to achieve success in economic, educational and other fields against all odds due to their own hard work.

Yet Najib has the cheek to suggest that the Chinese should be grateful to BN.

MCA President Datuk Chua Soi Lek has been saying that DAP can only be “king” in Penang.

Let me tell Najib that in a democracy, the people are the masters and government is just the servant.
It is wrong for the government to ask the people to show gratitude to them.

Hence, all Malaysians irrespective of race do not have to show gratitude to the government.

Malaysians can and should support any political party that can promise them a better future.

PR Manifesto shows that PR is a coalition that has good, practical and just policies which will bring about  A Better Malaysia for All.

Let me tell Chua that PR subscribes to the concept of Ketuanan Rakyat and hence under the PR government, the people are the “kings’.

It is only in the BN coalition where Umno is the big boss whereas component parties like MCA are just partners in office but not in power.
