Continued BN rule will only mean further ruin to the nation.

Speech by M Kula Segaran, DAP National Vice Chairman and MP for Ipoh Barat at DAP Dinner organized by Greentown Branch at Kok Thai Restaurant , Ipoh on Saturday, September 15, 2012

Continued BN rule will only mean further ruin to the nation.

Over the last two months, BN leaders are talking more about Janji di Tepati and less about 1 Malaysia.
Janji di Tepati is certainly going to be BN’s main election theme in the coming general election.

BN can go round boasting that it has fulfilled its promises but the people have eyes to see and will judge for themselves if BN deserves to be given another term to helm Putrajaya government.

I am not talking about the state level government because the present government was formed without the mandate of the people and there is no reason whatsoever that it should be given another term.

The present Perak government must be toppled in the next general election as no true democracy should allow such a government to continue to govern.

As for the Federal government, Malaysians should just ask themselves a few simple, but important questions, namely

--has the BN government learnt its lesson from the 2008 general election where it suffered its unprecedented electoral debacle?

- has the BN given the people enough confidence that it can bring Malaysia to better or worse days ahead?
I shall say that the BN‘s act of political coup d tat against the elected PR led Perak government in 2009 is god enough reason for us to conclude that BN has not learned its lessons.

This is a disgraceful political act which Perakians must not forget and forgive. Perak voters must therefore ensure the present BN government is soundly defeated in the next general election.

As for the Federal government, the time for change has finally arrived as BN is a government that Malaysians can continue to put their hopes on.

In terms of education, despite the fact that 3 Education Blueprints have been published in the last 13 years, Malaysian education standards have gone from bad to worse in this period.

Vernacular schools continue to receive unfair treatment from the BN government.

Corruption remains rampant .Inflation hits the people’s pockets.

More and more Malaysians feel less safe whether at home or at car parks.

Our national government debt continues to rise and the government debt/GDP ratio is getting close to the existing debt ceiling of 55%.

Yet the BN government is going round talking about Janji di Tepati!  So did BN promise the people rampant corruption, higher inflation, higher crime rates and higher national debt?

BN has ruled the nation for more than 5 decades. Continued BN rule will only mean further ruin to the nation.

Time that Malaysians must give themselves and the nation a chance. Come the next general election, vote for total change to bring about A Better Malaysia for All.
