The search for Teoh Beng Hock’s cause of death cannot end with a RCI conclusion that is based on speculation

( I spoke at a capacity crowd at the DAP ceramh held at Sg.Siput on Tuesday 2.8.2011)

1. The search for Teoh Beng Hock’s cause of death cannot end with a RCI conclusion that is based on speculation.

Teoh Beng Hock died more than 2 years ago , yet today his family members still have not got the answer that they deserved to know—how did he die?

They had suffered since July 16, 2009, the fateful day when Beng Hock died of mysterious death at the Selangor MACC office.

Coroner Court was not able to determine cause of death and returned an open verdict. RCI was then set up to conduct new probe, yet the RCI report did not help to solve the mystery of the cause of death.

In fact, the RCI report has raised more questions instead of providing answers.

Teoh family has disputed the driven to suicide conclusion by RCI.

Many public too find it difficult to accept such conclusion.

Government leaders have asked that Malaysians to accept the RCI findings. But how could the RCI conclusion be accepted when it was a mere speculation?

RCI has mentioned the fourth interrogation which was the final straw but then what actually happened on the morning from 3.30am till the time when Teoh Beng Hock’s dead body was found?

RCI has concluded that many MACC officers who testified at the RCI hearing had lied. So they must have covered up something or the truth.

Despite his eyesight not having totally recovered from his eye operation, DAP parliamentary leader Sdr Lim Kit Siang has diligently and fully studied the RCI report .

I am sure the Attorney General office and the Police must have read in Kit Siang’s blog the powerful reasons and convincing leads from the RCI report which warrants further investigation into Teoh Beng Hock’s death.

My question is therefore why is there no action till today?

The AG’s office and Police cannot remain silent and they must explain what is causing the absence of action.

The search for Teoh Beng Hock’s cause of death cannot end with a RCI conclusion that is based on speculation.

Police must immediately arrest the three MACC officers named by the RCI and also compel every officer who had contact with Teoh Beng Hock after he arrived at MACC on July 15 th , 2009 to undergo a lie detection test .

2. Come the next general election, Perakians must rise to the occasion and vote in Pakatan Rakyat governments at both state and federal levels

Yesterday, a report in the internet portal “ The Malaysian Insider” revealed that the ruling Barisan Nasional could lose Perak and Negri Sembilan in the next general elections, according to results of a recent dry run, unless component parties put popular faces and ensure the grassroots machinery garner support from voters.

This is certainly a report which has become a political nightmare for the BN leadership.

However, under the decades of rule under the BN government, Malaysians have had to suffer many nights of nightmare because of political arrogance, incompetent governance and discriminatory policies from the BN government.

After having suffered its worst electoral debacle in the 2008 general election, Prime Minister Dato Sri Najib said that BN government will reform.

But we have not seen any real reform. Instead BN has robbed the mandate given by Perakians to Pakatan Rakyat to rule Perak state.

It is therefore time that the voters must now give BN its biggest nightmare at the next general election.

Come the next general election, Perakians must rise to the occasion and vote in Pakatan Rakyat governments at both the state and federal levels.
